Director of Tennis

Doug has been the Director of Tennis at Palisades since 2012. Prior to that he was the director at the Avenel Swim and Tennis club in Potomac after spending 10 years as a head pro at Bethesda Country Club. Doug is a USPTA certified tennis professional and received his bachelor’s degree in Professional Tennis Management from Ferris State University. Since 2012 Doug has brought many new teams and programs to Palisades. These include 2 ladies daytime teams, a men’s evening league team, and a junior tennis team in the summer. In his over 30 years of tennis teaching experience Doug has coached many juniors who have gone on to have very successful high school and college tennis careers. He also prides himself on developing adult tennis players to compete successfully on interclub teams and making sure these players become lifelong participants in this great game.

Head Professional

Rich has over 15 years of experience teaching tennis and was ranked as one of the top 3 juniors in his home country of Ghana. He also competed in ITF Futures and Satellite Tournaments on the professional tour. Upon his arrival to the United States in 2003, Rich began working at Weston Racket Club in Weston, Connecticut, owned by former world number one Ivan Lendl. Since then, he has worked at many tennis clubs, including one of the top clubs in the DMV, College Park Tennis Center. He has been working at Palisades Swim & Tennis Club since 2014 and is a USPTR certified tennis professional.
